ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER
Position Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager works under the direction of the Senior Manager of Repairs and supports the Branch Manager by assigning and directing all repair work performed in the shop and supervising all aspects of valve repairs. This role will manage staff and build a positive work environment through effective communication and leadership. The Assistant Branch Manager will ensure customer satisfaction and quality repairs while increasing productivity and efficiency. This position is also responsible for stepping in to lead the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Direct repair shop operations, including distribution, quality, and customer service
- Coordinate with the shop supervisor to manage day–to–day activities in the repair shop
- Ensure customer delivery expectations are met, timely and without error
- Identify areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges
- As needed, work directly with the Repairs Senior Manager
- Assist the Branch Manager with inventory upkeep and record management
- Work closely with the planner to schedule work and manage completion dates
- Achieve the best performance in the shop by providing training, coaching, development, and motivation
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance workflow efficiency
- Promotes a culture of Safety and addresses Safety concerns as needed
- Supports Branch Manager and as needed, act as Branch Manager in their absence
Certifications/Skills:
- Proven experience as a successful manager or supervisor in a repair shop environment
- Sufficient knowledge of current management techniques and best practices
- Ability to meet production goals and provide accurate reporting
- Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Results driven and customer focused
- Computer literacy including experience using work planning software, Excel, Word and Outlook
Minimum Education:
Associate Degree and/or Trade School in an industrial manufacturing disciple or related field
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Ability to climb stairs and a ladder as required.
- Regular on–time physical attendance is required.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time and throughout the day in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Duties require verbal communication abilities, visual acuity to written and computer screen data, accuracy in reading data, and manual coordination and dexterity in handling items and operation of computer equipment.
- Ability to travel to work locations as needed.
